2017年6月24日周六下午1:30，在同济大学建筑城规学院B楼钟庭报告厅举行了2017同济大学“数字未来”系列活动——以“可视化 VS. 物质化”为主题的暑期夏令营的开幕仪式暨SPAN新书发布会。此次仪式，由同济大学袁烽教授主持，建筑与城市规划学院副院长张尚武教授和建筑系系主任蔡永洁教授均为开幕式作了重要致辞。
The event open at 13:30pm on Saturday, June 24th 2016 at the lecture hall of Building B of College of Architecture and Urban Planning in Tongji University. The opening was hosted by Prof.Philip F. YUAN, form Tongji University, in which Shangwu ZHANG, the vice-president of CAUP, Tongji University, and Prof. Yongjie CAI made an important welcome speech for the opening.

本次活动为探索材料本体特性与数字化生产的有效整合，探求通过“建造与自动化”等方面体现“数字化物质设计”的新途径，以“可视化VS物质化”为主题，开展包括数字设计与建造工作营、国际学术研讨会、工作营成果展、开放日参观交流以及系列讲座等活动，共同探讨以唯物论为依据的材料数字时代的哲学思维为新兴数控建造产业带来的新挑战和新机遇。
In order to explore the efficient integration between material ontological property and digital fabrication, which “digital material design” methodologies relies on “fabrication and automation” in contemporary context. With the theme of “Visualization vs. Materialization ”, the event includes Digital design and Fabrication Workshop, International Conference, Workshop Exhibition, Open Day Visit& Communication and Series of Forums. And it will bring professors and leading architects in the field of digital design and fabrication together to discuss the materialism-based material digital era of philosophical thinking for the emerging numerical control construction industry to bring new challenges and new opportunities.
工作营介绍之后，Matias del Campo新书发布活动开始。下午3点半，在Neil Leach教授的主持下，Matias del Campo、Sandra Manninger、李翔宁、袁烽、Philippe Block、Behnaz Farahi和Biayna Bogosian作为讨论嘉宾参加了新书发布讨论会。
After the introduction of workshops, the new book SPAN release forum was hosted by Matias del Campo at half past three, in which Matias del Campo, Sandra Manninger, Xiangning LI, Philip F. YUAN, Philippe Block, Behnaz Farahi and Biayna Bogosian participated.

下午4点，在工作人员带领下，工作营小组两组一批地依次参观了文远楼数字建造实验室，同学们纷纷赞叹建筑艺术的曼妙与现代科技的发达。最后，各组在导师组织下开展了初次会议。
Then, every two groups visited the Digital Fabrication Laboratory in Wenyuan Building in one time in order at 16:00pm. In the end of today, every group had a first meeting.

今年暑期工作营近300名学员报名，组委会在与各组指导老师一起对学员进行初步的筛选后，从众多的报名者中根据志愿情况挑选出来146名学员参与本次暑期夏令营，他们分别来自16所海外和39所国内共55所国内外高校以及12所建筑设计机构。其中国际学员包括来自南加州建筑学院(SCI-ARC)、建筑联盟学院(AA)、加州大学伯克利分校(University of California, Berkeley)、伦敦大学学院(UCL)、法尔茅斯大学(Falmouth University)、普瑞特艺术学院(Pratt Institute)、伊利诺伊大学香槟分校、多伦多大学(University of Toronto)、纽约州立大学布法罗分校(University at Buffalo)、美国罗德岛设计学院(Rhode Island School of Design)、爱丁堡大学、康奈尔大学、利物浦大学、美国雪城大学等海外先锋院校及来自同济大学、清华大学、东南大学、华南理工大学、天津大学、浙江大学、四川大学、哈尔滨工业大学、中央美术学院、中国美术学院、重庆大学、湖南大学、西安建筑科技大学等在内的国内高校的教师、硕博研究生及本科生。
This year, more than 300 students enrolled in the summer workshop. After several reviews by the committee and group instructors, 146 students from 16 foreign universities and 39 Chinese universities , 55 universities in total and 12 architectural design organization stood out. This year the summer workshop contains foreign students from SCI-ARC, AA, University of California, Berkeley, UCL, Falmouth University,Pratt Institute, UIUC, University of Toronto,University at Buffalo, Rhode Island School of Design), University of Edinburgh, Cornell University, University of Liverpool, Syracuse University, as well as Chinese students from Tongji University, Tsinghua University, Southeast University, South China University of Technology, Tianjin University, Zhejiang University , Sichuan University ,Harbin Institute of Technology, Central Academy of Fine Arts, China Academy of Art, Chongqing University, Hunan University, Xi`an University of Architecture and Technology, etc.
此次夏令营，邀请了来自全球高校的8位分别来自苏黎世联邦理工学院的Philippe Block教授、德国斯图加特大学的Achim Menges、Martin Alvarez、南加州大学的Behnaz Farahi、欧洲研究生院的Neil Leach教授、南加州大学的Biayna Bogosian德国达姆施塔特工业大学的王祥博士、中央美术学院的王文栋老师等以及5位杰出助教的联合团队。在8台机器人、2台CNC计算机数字控制机床、5台无人机、UWB室内定位设备、热成像仪和多台3D打印机的设备支持下，来自不同背景的学员无疑将在这个夏天的数字设计与建造夏令营中碰撞出激烈的灵感火花，创造出令人眼前一亮的设计作品。
The workshop invited eight outstanding instructors from world famous schools.
